Wedding Planning: The Invites

Hello friends,

If you are in the midst of planning a wedding like me, then you know how hard it is to figure out how to invite people. So, let’s talk about the people you NEED at your wedding and then we will get into picking cute invite templates and webistes that are helpful !

If you have a giant family it can be hard t vote everyone to your wedding. No remember, the wedding is simply about you and your partner, no one else. Not mom, not dad, not grandma, and not your siblings.

Everyone will always want a say in something, and let’s be real; it’s not their wedding so anything you do is not going to be ideal to anyone you let help because it’s not the way they would do it.

My suggestion, set time aside for you and you’re partner to make a list of people who you would want at the wedding. Don’t put a cap on it just write the list.

The next step is to start the wedding planning and budgeting.

Our cap is 12,000 but we are trying to keep it at 10,000 because we want to be able to budget to buy a house as well.

Our original list was at 175 people, now, it’s at about 120.

Budgeting will come in another blog, but you get the point. The more people you have, the mote expensive the wedding will be.

It is important you have people YOU want at your wedding. Not anyone’s significant other you don’t really know, not a distant family member who never checks in, and not anyone you do not want there. I cannot stress that enough.

There are also going to be people who you want there, but it just doesn’t fit your budget, and that is okay. The day isn’t about them.

Really think; “who is going to be in my life to stay, who has been around in my life to build me up, who loves me well, and who am I going to really enjoy having at my wedding?”

Now, make your list.

The invites. So, like I said, we are trying to ball on a budget.

Originally I used Canva to design our own invites

I used the free version of Canva to make these. However…

It was difficult to find somewhere to print the invites. I know Staples and Costco have options, but for us the most sense at this point was to order them.

Keep in mind, most invites go in the trash so don’t spend all your time stressing about a piece of paper.

Minted weddings is what we used to order our invites. It came out to $138 for 100 invites and we have 40 invites left over.

They even have a section for brides on a budget. We got an all in one invite

That’s all for tips and tricks on wedding invites. Take the stress of your shoulders and do what is best for your situation. It is suppose to be fun, so just remember that.
